What is a "Meet and Greet/ Buyers Presentation"?
A "meet and greet" is a “Buyers Counselling Session or known as a Buyers Presentation”. You really don't want to skip this step in the real estate purchasing process. In order to property represent you, it is important that we sit down together for this "Buyers Presentation" to discuss a number of things you need to know. This meeting will take about 1.5 - 2 hours, but is required before we go out the second time to view homes.
We will be discussing the following:
- Agency Relationships: Your options on how you want to be represented
- How to property protect you in your transaction
- Steps to purchasing real estate
- Expectations in purchasing real estate
- Purchasing concerns
- Impacted Properties
- Expenses to purchasing real estate
- Financing
- Shopping for a home: Resale, Spec homes, New construction, Builders, Open Houses
- The offer process: creating the offer, terms and conditions, presenting offers
- Inspections: Property inspections, condo document inspections.
- Closing and timelines
- Contracts: Agency, Buyer Brokerage, Fintrac, Offer to purchase, etc.
- The next step
- and it will give us an opportunity to answer questions you may have.
This is a great time for you, the buyer, to be interviewing me as well. I do suggest you interview REALTOR's. We are not all the same, and when you are looking for someone to help you make one of the largest purchases you may make, you do want to make sure you have someone by your side who you can trust, rely on, and who can guide you through the process, making it as smooth as possible.
And not to be suprised, I'll be interviewing you as well. I understand that not everyone can work well together. We need to make sure I can meet your expectations, and therefore I need to know what your expectations are. I want to make sure that the home buying process is as easy and comfortable as possible for you, and helping you to meet your goals.

And everyone (even my resale clients) that I present this too, tell me time and time again "Tania, no one ever told us that before." "I never knew that." " Why aren't other REALTOR's sharing this information with us?" Well, I cannot speak for other REALTOR's, I can only speak for myself.
I find that clients are much more relaxed and educated, therefore felling confident in walking into the world of ownership of real estate. The expectation and concerns have been discussed, making the process even exciting at times. You have to learn to crawl before you walk... I am setting the foundation to purchasing real estate instead of just throwing you into it.
